Cleaning Your Semi-Truck Interior
Semi-truck drivers spend most of their time in the truck’s cab. It’s a space where they work, live, and sometimes eat. Keeping that space clean is difficult but important. A clean semi-truck interior can reduce stress and help the driver to focus better, among other benefits. If you’re looking for some tips on how to keep your semi-truck’s interior clean, this guide from Fyda Freightliner has some helpful tips.
Take Out Any Trash
It’s easy for the inside of your semi-truck to fill with unwanted trash. This trash not only adds to the clutter, but leaving them in the vehicle for too long can result in an unpleasant smell. Even miniscule food traces can make your semi-truck more appealing to pests. We recommend having a trash bag right there in the cab to make it easier to store trash and dump it out the next time you take a rest.
Vacuum Regularly
The easiest way to remove dirt, gunk, and grime from your semi-truck’s interior is to vacuum it out. Remove the floor mats when it's time to vacuum and shake them out. Plastic mats may need a quick rinse just to get them as clean as possible. Obviously, you’ll want to vacuum the area under the floor mats as well. If you’re having trouble getting to the interior’s more narrow crevices, use a long vacuum attachment.
Clean the Dashboard
Cleaning a semi-truck’s dashboard can be tricky. You don’t want to damage anything, so we recommend polishing the dials and knobs using a soft cloth. Cleaners or polishes that leave behind a sheen can result in a blinding glare, so be careful which products you use!
Clean Your Windows
Clean windows are necessary for safely operating a semi-truck. Luckily, all you usually need to clean off your semi-truck’s windows is a standard window cleaner. Be careful when cleaning tinted windows, as you don’t want to accidentally destroy the tint.
Clean Leather Seats
Leather is very easy to damage. The wrong cleaner can cause stains, while a rough towel can cause scratches. Be very careful when cleaning your semi-trailer’s leather seats.
